I strongly believe that each of us has a passion that drives our life’s direction. For me, that passion is being a Social Worker and empowering my clients to create a life that brings them meaning and satisfaction. Whether it’s teaching someone how to move through grief, helping someone process trauma, or developing strategies for someone managing anxiety, I work with my clients to ensure we have a strong clinical relationship focused on goal-driven outcomes. I promise all of my clients respect, empathy, and understanding and strive to offer an accepting and warm environment.
Professional Experience
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Towson University, Towson, MD and my Master’s in Social Work from Delaware State University, Dover, DE. In my 25 years as a Clinical Social Worker, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients in both the private and public settings including hospitals, schools, and Department of Health (State and County). My professional experience has allowed me to develop effective skills as a clinician working with clients with anxiety, depression, trauma/abuse, and grief, as well as those with complex medical diagnoses. I use many modalities in my practice including Psychodynamics, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Attachment, Mindfulness, and Family Systems. I am certified with Maryland NASW as an approved supervisor for Master level Social Worker seeking clinical supervision.
Life Outside the Office
I’m a native Marylander (born in Baltimore and raised in Annapolis). Outside of work, I enjoy spending time hiking, kayaking, and anything else that will get me outside! I share my home with my college-aged son and the occasional foster dog or kitten(s) from our local shelter!
Jennifer works out of our Severna Park office. She has after school and evening hours and is an out of network provider.
