Audra Mulleneaux

MA, Masters/Social Work StudentEmail »amulleneaux@waypointwellnesscenter.com

I am a master’s-level student of social work at George Mason University and am under the supervision of Leigh Ann Haas, LCSW-C offering mental health services to the adult population. Before beginning the MSW program, I was and still am a coach, specializing in trauma-informed care and modalities, such as somatic experiencing. I am thrilled to be on the path to licensure and to grow my knowledge and experience in trauma-informed therapy.

Professional Experience

I have a master’s degree in teaching English as a second language. Before my second career as a trauma-informed coach and MSW candidate, I was an ESL teacher among a highly traumatized population in Salt Lake City – adult immigrants and refugees. I have 10 years of experience in adult education. This is where my inclination toward healing and trauma work took root. I left my position as a teacher to become a trauma-informed coach and earn a second master’s degree to participate more acutely in trauma resolution. I specialize in addressing trauma through a somatic lens and utilize somatic experiencing to help clients release the stuck trauma responses in their bodies. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, religious & cult trauma, physical & sexual abuse, relationship issues, divorce, narcissistic abuse, emotional trauma, and childhood neglect & trauma.

Life Outside the Office

I am from the beautiful state of Colorado and enjoy time in the great outdoors. Even more so, I have a passion for salsa and bachata dancing. When I am not at work, you can find me on the dance floor with friends and my wonderful boyfriend. I also enjoy thoroughly quality time with friends and family.
