I am a MD Psychology Associate and a doctoral extern working under the supervision of Dr. Tana Clarke. I am in the process of obtaining my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Divine Mercy University and have received my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Divine Mercy University. As a therapist, I value deep empathy, authenticity, and honoring the complexity of each client. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), relational therapy, and attachment-focused theoretical frameworks in my therapeutic work. I strive to make a space where clients feel safe to share their thoughts and feelings and work to provide not just the relief of mental health symptoms, but positive change in my clients’ lives overall!
Professional Experience
I have clinical experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Most recently, I worked as a clinical extern at the IPS Center for Psychological Services where I provided therapeutic interventions for trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational issues. I also worked as an eating disorder counselor at a residential treatment facility that worked with a variety of different eating disorders where I led therapeutic groups that focus on DBT, CBT, life skills, coping skills, and other psychoeducational areas. I also have training in administration, scoring, and interpretation of a variety of cognitive and personality psychological tests.
Life Outside the Office
I live in Fairfax, Virginia and greatly enjoy distance running, getting out in nature, and reading mystery novels. I also love baking and spending time with my friends, family, and cats!
Fiona started her year-long psychology externship at Waypoint this summer. She works in the Annapolis location and she also provides telehealth services.
